Some downtown property owners are looking into the idea of having additional security cameras located on the mall and surrounding area to provide another tool to combat crime- however who would pay for, and monitor the surveillance equipment is an issue. The issue was discussed during Thursday’s meeting of the Downtown Development Commission, with two property owners saying they have already approached Mayor Brian Grim about the proposal- only to be directed to the DDC. Chairperson Sandi Saville said that while she is not opposed to additional security cameras, she isn’t sure it should be handled, financially or otherwise by the DDC…
