A presentation of the long awaited economic development plan for Allegany County will be on the agenda of next week’s meeting of the County Commissioners. The county contracted Thomas P. Miller & Associates, an Indianapolis-based consulting firm, to conduct a detailed strategic plan for economic growth in the area. The process included data and information collection; studying regional demographics, housing and economics to better understand the county’s condition. Public input was also collected as two workshops were held for citizens to have offer their opinions. Commissioners President Jake Shade, who first proposed the study in 2017, said the goal is that the county can implement the strategic plan which will drive decisions to help the county grow in the coming years…
