The first in what will be dozens of budget presentations to the Allegany County Commissioners was part of the most recent work session- with Finance Director Jason Bennett outlining some of the early fiscal strategies in place in preparing for FY 2016. On the plus side, Bennett reported that the county’s unassigned general fund balance holds about $4.6 million in excess of two months’ worth of general fund revenues. The big unknown at this point is how much of impact state budget cuts will have on the county…
