Foot Chase Leads To Arrest Of Cumberland Man

On 12/19/2015 Cumberland City Police officers were called to the Queen City Drive plaza in reference to a reported suspicious subject harassing patrons in the local businesses. Officers arrived in the area and observed a subject matching the description walking away from the area on Baltimore Street towards Queen City Pavement.  Officers caught up with the suspect and recognized him as Eric Lee Rosenberger, 35, of Cumberland.  Officers on the scene were aware that Rosenberger was wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant for theft.  

As officers approached Rosenberger and advised him to stop he began to flee on foot.  Officers engaged in a foot pursuit of Rosenberger and were eventually able to locate him hiding under a porch in the rear of a residence on Decatur Street.  Rosenberger was taken into custody without further incident.  Rosenberger was transported to Cumberland Police Headquarters where he was processed for the warrant and additional criminal charges as listed below:

Warrant: original charge Theft Less than $100.00

Obstructing and Hindering – 1 count

Resisting/Interfering with Arrest – 1 count

Disturbing Peace – 1 count

Rosenberger was subsequently transported to the Allegany County District Court for a bond hearing.  Rosenberger was held at the Allegany County Detention Center on a total of $6,600.00 bond.
