FSU Student Falls From Sixth Floor Of Dorm

The Frostburg State University Police and the Allegany County Combined Criminal Investigation Unit (C3I) are investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a 19 year old student who fell from a 6th floor window of Westminster Hall, an on campus dormitory at FSU.

It was at 8:44 PM on Monday evening, 04/10/2017, when FSU Police were first notified that the student, who has been identified as 19 year old Orion Samson Belete, of Silver Spring, was found at the rear of Westminster Hall. Officers responded along with the Frostburg Ambulance. The student was transported to the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center, and has since been airlifted to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore for continued treatment of numerous serious injuries sustained as a result of the fall.

The C3I Unit was contacted and Investigators responded to the scene to assist in the investigation. The scene was processed by members of the Maryland State Police Forensic Sciences Division.

The investigation is continuing by the Frostburg State University Police and C3I.
