Green Electricity Companies Aggressively Soliciting Customers

In 1999, Maryland’s energy suppliers were deregulated which meant that while the state’s five utilities still own the lines that bring electricity into your home, other firms could compete to sell consumers directly power that they produce or purchase from different power plants. With Marylander’s given the opportunity  to choose, an abundance of greener energy options developed and those companies have been aggressively soliciting electricity customers to “go green”.   While the green energy suppliers have routinely promoted providing a cheaper alternative- that isn’t always the case with some of the information provided mentioning “variable” prices.  Maryland Attorney General Brian Frosh says its never a good idea to make a commitment without knowing exactly how much it may cost you…
