Gubernatorial Candidates Address Issues Facing Rural Maryland During Debate

October 4th, 2018 by WCBC Radio

Late last month, in their first and only debate before the Nov. 6 election-  Maryland Governor Larry Hogan and his Democratic challenger, former NAACP president Ben Jealous, squared off in an often times contentious showdown where each candidate painted a different picture of the state of affairs in Maryland. Not surprisingly issues such as the economy, health care and education dominated talking points during the one hour session- but at one point each candidate was asked their plans to address the myriad of issues facing rural Maryland, specifically Garrett, Allegany and Washington counties. Hogan talked in detail about some of the projects that have blossomed under his administration as well as that many times he has visited the region…

Jealous spoke more in generalities when it comes to what he would propose for the rural parts of the state…
