WCBC News has learned of a situation which involved an area man being allegedly held against his will, only to be found in the woods along Route 36 in the Corriganville area after an intense police investigation.

On Tuesday afternoon at 3:20, The Cumberland Police Department was contacted by a woman, who advised that her son was being held against his will somewhere in the Cumberland area.  Police were able to contact the victim via his cell phone, and he confirmed that he was being held against his will at an unknown location.

As a result of the communication, the victim was located in the woods along Route 36 near Corriganville by an Allegany County Deputy Sheriff.  During a one hour debriefing, he told authorities that he got into a car on Decatur Street with two black male subjects, one of which pointed a gun at his head and demanded money.  He was able to flee from the vehicle, not pursued, and was able to contact authorities.

The investigation remains open, but the victim is hesitant to provide further information.

Maryland State Police also participated in the investigation, which also includes C3I.
