The Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services is looking to fill some 100 employment vacancies at the Western Correctional Institution and the neighboring North Branch Correctional Institution.
The agency will conduct "Operation Hire" at Allegany College of Maryland on March 19 to begin the hiring process and fill the open positions at the WCI and NBCI, located on U.S. Route 220.
In addition to correctional officers, the department will be looking for counselors, electricians, plumbers, dietary workers, social workers, psychologists and medical and dental workers at the event that will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Continuing Education Building, Room 14.
