Bluegrass legend Del McCoury and family visited Cumberland on Tuesday to distribute checks to a number of local charitable organizations- the funds coming from revenues generated during the annual DelFest music festival at the Allegany County Fairgrounds. The announcements were made during brief ceremonies held at the Western Maryland Station Center at Canal Place. McCoury, a member of the International Bluegrass Hall of Fame, was a guest on WCBC’s “Dave Norman Show” prior to the check presentations.
