Cumberland city officials have confirmed to WCBC News that the construction on Pershing Street involves a private contractor that is installing a high speed technology cable.
At least one individual had severe tire damage after a pass through, while others have complained of the need for an alignment.
Administrator Jeff Rhodes confirmed the activity was with the contractor, and not city workers on a street repair project.
