CDS/Theft Arrest

On 02/09/15 at approximately 2:00 PM Cumberland Police Officers responded to a Park Street business for a reported Theft.  Upon their arrival Officers made contact with two suspects inside the store.  It was confirmed one of the suspects, self identified as Travis Coleman, had stolen property in his possession.  Officers began to speak with Coleman, and he was then placed under arrest for the Theft.  While the Officer was speaking with Coleman the second suspect, Troy Robinson, walked up to Coleman and attempted to retrieve an item from Coleman’s pocket.  At that point Officers ordered Robinson away from Coleman.  The Officer then conducted a search incident to a lawful arrest on Coleman.  As a result, Officers located one plastic baggie containing 24.6 grams of suspected Crack cocaine and two small baggies of suspected Marijuana weighing 1.3 grams.  Due to the fact Robinson and Coleman were together and Robinson attempted to retrieve the CDS from Coleman’s pocket, Robinson was also placed under arrest.  Both were transported to the Cumberland Police Department.  After arriving at the Department, Coleman admitted to providing a false name.  Coleman was then positively identified as Karon Lesane.  It was also determined Lesane had an active bench warrant from Baltimore City.  Both Lesane and Robinson were charged, processed and taken before the District Court Commissioner.  Lesane was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center on $80,000 bond.  Robinson was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center on $45,000 bond.

Charges: CDS:Possession with intent to distribute Narcotics, CDS:Possession Conspiracy with intent to distribute Narcotics, CDS Possession not Marijuana, CDS:Possession of Paraphernalia, Theft less than $1,000

 

 

Breaking and Entering Arrest

On Monday 02/09/15 Cumberland Police Officers were called to the 900 block of Shades Lane for a reported Breaking and Entering.  While enroute to the scene Officers were advised the suspects were leaving the area in a vehicle.  Officers located the described vehicle and conducted a traffic stop.  They contacted the occupants, Brady Twigg and Clarissa Robey.  Both admitted to being inside the Shades Lane address.  Officers then responded to the Shades Lane address.  The victims stated at no time did they give Twigg and Robey permission to be inside the residence.  The victim stated he entered his residence and located Twigg and Robey exiting the bedroom of the residence.  He advised them they were not to be in the residence and told them to leave.  The victim stated Twigg then struck him in the face and then pushed him in to a chair.  The victim then attempted to call the Police when Twigg slapped the phone from his hands.  The victim was then able to retrieve his cell phone and call Police.  At that time both Twigg and Robey were placed under arrest.  They were transported to the Cumberland Police Department where they were charged and processed.  They were both taken to the District Court Commissioners Office for an Initial Appearance.  Twigg was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center on $20,000 bond.  Robey was also remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center on $5,000 bond.

Destruction of Property/Disorderly Conduct Arrest

On 02/09/15 Cumberland Police Officers were called to the 500 block of Maryland Avenue at approximately 11:15 PM for a reported disturbance.  Upon their arrival, the Officers observed the suspect, Eric Brewer, yelling and causing a crowd to gather in the area.  The Officer spoke to a Taxi driver who stated he was dropping off a fare when he observed Brewer yelling.  He stated Brewer walked up to the Taxi and struck the hood of the vehicle with his fist, causing a dent in the hood of the vehicle.  Brewer continued to yell and he was then placed under arrest.  He was then transported to the Cumberland Police Department where he was charged, processed and taken to the District Court Commissioner’s Office.  He was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center on $1,000 bond.
