ASSAULT

On Monday December 29, 2014, at 4:37 pm, Cumberland City Police Officers responded to the 100 block of Decatur Street for an assault that previously took place at the downtown mall.  Investigation into this matter revealed that Devin Linaweaver, age 20, approached two individuals, brandished a folding knife and made threatening statements to them.  The victims fled from the scene.  Linaweaver was located at a business on Queen City Drive and was found with the knife in his possession.  He was placed in custody and transported to the Cumberland City Police Department where he was processed, served and taken to the Allegany County District Court Commissioner’s Office for a bond hearing.  He was held on a     $10,000.00 bond at the Allegany County Detention Center.

Charges:  Assault 2^nd Degree (2 counts), Reckless Endangerment, Disorderly Conduct.  Attempted  1^st Degree Assault.

 

BURGLARY

On Monday December 29, 2014, at 4:34 pm, Cumberland City Police Officers responded to a private residence at the 300 block of Furnace Street for a Burglary complaint.  Investigation revealed that Lance Twigg, age 34 of Cumberland, unlawfully entered the residence through the rear locked door.  The owner of the property indicated that she did not give Twigg permission to be in the residence.  Twigg was placed under arrest and transported to the Cumberland City Police Department where he was processed, served and taken to the Allegany County District Court Commissioner’s Office for a bond hearing.  He was held on a $3,000.00 bond at the Allegany County Detention Center.
