The long awaited completion of US 219 between Somerset and Meyersdale is nearing. The Cumberland Times News reports that the project needs $35 million to finish the job. Colleen Peterson, coordinator of the North/South Appalachian Highway Coalition, says the project is “so close you can taste it.” Funding is still needed for the Meyersdale to Interstate 68 portion of US 219.
