Reduction In Grant Funding Will Impact Summer Entertainment Schedule

The Downtown Development Commission has seen a dramatic reduction in grant funding in the past few years- and that will have an impact on the summer entertainment schedule. In FY 2014 the DDC received a Maryland Heritage Area Authority Grant of close to $40,000. In FY 2015 it was reduced to $24,000. For the upcoming year, just $13,000 available. DDC Promotions Director Steve Leyh told the city council that fewer dollars will lead to fewer music performances and a focus on Friday night shows and some larger scale special concert events throughout the summer…
