In a rare show of unity, the Allegany County Board of Education voted unanimously Tuesday night to return the hire of five new teachers to the Superintendent’s proposed budget. The board, by a 3-2 vote earlier this month, had removed the teachers from the budget as a costs savings measure. During last night’s meeting, Finance Director Larry McKenzie provided an update on the budget proposal and said that there have been some favorable occurrences over the course of recent weeks- reducing the increase being sought from the county commissioners….
