Authorities with the Moorefield Police and Hardy County Sheriff's Department arrested 31 year old Jospeh Lucian Ograbisz Saturday, charging him with stabbing his estranged girlfriend last weekend.

On Sunday, April 12, at approximately 10:30 P.M., a call was received by the Hardy County 911 Center reporting a woman calling for help on Cedar Street within the municipality of Moorefield. Officers from the Moorefield Police Department were dispatched to 100 Cedar Street and located a female victim in the driveway of the apartment complex. Members of the WV State Police and Hardy and Grant County Sheriff’s Department also responded.

Statements obtained indicated that she was the victim of multiple stab wounds as the result of a domestic altercation. The wounds were allegedly inflicted by her estranged boyfriend, the 31 year old Ograbisz, of Moorefield. She was transported to the Grant Memorial Hospital by Fraley Ambulance and then transferred to Ruby Memorial Hospital where she remains in stable condition.
