As of January 1st, Ric Thayer is serving as acting chairman of the Canal Place Preservation and Development Authority- and it could be a challenging year for the operation that is facing a serious fiscal crunch. One of the first orders of business will be a second attempt to secure a private developer to utilize the Footer Dye Works building for commercial purposes. RFP’s are being developed and will be sent out early in the new year.
