Virginia Avenue Traffic Stop Leads To Drug Charges

On Friday an Officer with the Cumberland Police Dept observed a vehicle perform several traffic violations in the area of Virginia Ave near Browning St. The Officer conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and made contact with the operator and two occupants. While speaking with the operator, the officer detected an odor of suspected burnt marijuana emitting from the vehicle. At this time the occupants were removed from the vehicle. The two unidentified passengers in the vehicle began to flee on foot. The operator identified as 25 year old Manoche Bosse of Bridgeport Ct also attempted to flee from the Officer. After a brief struggle Bosse was taken into custody without further incident. Recovered from the scene was a significant amount of Crack Cocaine. Bosse was transported to the Cumberland Police Dept where he was charged with one count of second degree assault, disorderly conduct, conspiring to posses other than marijuana, and conspiring to possession with intent to distribute CDS. A check of the area for the two unidentified males was conducted with negative results. Bosse was transported to the District Court Commissioner for an initial appearance where he was held on a $3,000 bail.
