On Sunday, Allegany County Deputies responded to Winchester Road for a motor vehicle crash. Rex Walter Burton was driving a 2013 Chrysler passenger vehicle and was traveling southbound on Winchester Road when he attempted to make a left onto the I-68 eastbound ramp. Burton struck a 2010 Chevy passenger vehicle driven by Chad Michael Johnson. Johnson was traveling northbound on Winchester Road. Witnesses at the scene advised deputies that Johnson was going at excessive speed. Johnson at the scene admitted going past the speed limit. Both Burton and Johnson were taken to Western Maryland Health System with minor injuries. Both parties were found to be at fault for the crash. Burton was given a citation for failure yield right way on left turn and Johnson was cited for excessive speed.
