County School Boards still working on back to school plans

July 29th, 2020 by WCBC Radio

It may be summer, but Maryland school officials have been busy trying to decide whether or not they will reopen for in-person instruction in the fall. The Allegany County School Board will meet in closed session this Sunday to discuss plans- while administrators across the state say it's not easy to try and plan for an upcoming school year under the cloud of so much uncertainty brought on by the coronavirus pandemic. Several county school districts have already made a decision to be online-only for at least the first semester. Governor Larry Hogan says he believes rural school systems such as those in Western Maryland and the Eastern Shore will prepare for in-person instruction this fall…

Tammy’s and WCBC’s poll both show that the general public don’t want children in schools this fall. Not sure why Dave doesn’t understand this, contrary to what he says the general public doesn’t think it is safe or time to open schools. We don’t need what happened to the Keyser Football team happen to our Allegany County students. 14 players covid positive is 14 too many.

As soon as we can and as safely as we can. So says the Governor.
Unfortunately, for the children, that is an oxymoron.

COVID is not a death sentence, especially for school age children. Listen to the Doctors and not office holders who don’t want to be pounced on latter if their decision is not in perfect agreement with their critics. Follow the science!!

Dave doesn’t understand this because he’s close minded and a big Trump supporter. So he’ll follow the devil’s lead.

Aydelotte has always hated the public school system. He’d say or do anything to make the system look bad. The absolute worst superintendent we ever had was Robert Terrill. Terrill was a terrible person, dishonest, manipulative, a jock worshiper. He basically got fired for his ineffectiveness and divisiveness. Guess what? He’s Aydellote’s all time fav.

Open this web page and the first item is that the Governor puts the brakes on any more reopening.
Next item is that a third Keyser high student is positive for Covid-19.
Next item is 5 new deaths in W.Va.
And the local school board hasn’t decided on the next school session.

With cases rising with community transmitted virus, all schools and colleges should be virtual for fall. Look at Georgia camp, Midwest school closing after one day due to positive. It is not the right time to experiment with people’s lives. With every positive case will you shut to sanitize? Kids will be out of school more than in school. How will that help?
