This outcome was so easy to predict. Maybe is the county takes back the shelter, we can start euthanizing the surplus of cats released in the wild that keep the Park play areas a veritable litter box for local children to play in, while their parents are not allowed to smoke.

Seems to me they are going back on their promise not to need an increase on funding. Maybe if their exec director wasn’t receiving $60k + bennies they wouldnt need an increase.

After reading the comments on the WCBC Facebook page … half the “paid” staff, i.e. Tina Haggerty, can be replaced by a competent volunteer, perhaps a ACM Emeritus, director and the Animal Control Officer, can be replaced by a competent member, possibly former law enforcement officer, of the Sheriff’s Departments volunteers or others with real law enforcement experience.

No Kill Shelters are a disservice to the animals … they are kept in cages without human interaction for years!!!

Audit!!! Do not give this “scam” any more money, it’s a bogus this “money pit” without accountability.

The comments on the WCBC Facebook page clearly suspect that there is embezzlement and fraud at this so called “non-profit organization”.

I would like to know also … What kind of degree does Tina Haggerty have that a warrants an $85,000 annual salary … in addition to that, I would be interested in knowing what the Animal Control Officer makes for “picking up stray animals” and no real prosecution of animal abusers!! Too many of the comments are, in my opinion, are valid!!
