Allegany State’s Attorney Speaks with WCBC News Following Appointment as Circuit Judge

Maryland Governor Larry Hogan has named Allegany County State's Attorney Michael Twigg as the next Circuit Court Judge, replacing the retired Timothy Finan. Prior to his work in the State’s Attorney Office, Twigg worked as a paralegal for Hazel and Thomas and in the specialist homicide section of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia. Twigg obtained a B.A in political science from The Citadel and a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center. Once Twigg officially steps down as State’s Attorney- Administrative Judge Jeff Getty will appoint an interim to fill the role until the 2022 election.
