Once again Cumberland-area residents can ring in the New Year with a ball drop and fireworks on the downtown mall. The annual New Year’s Eve celebration, put on by the Downtown Development Commission, will feature music, hats and glow sticks and once again WCBC Radio will be broadcasting live from the event beginning at 10 PM. The 2018/2019 broadcast will originate from the Manhattan Social at 69 Baltimore Street. Mikayla Dodge, executive director of the DDC, tells WCBC the midnight ball drop from the roof of the Cumberland Arms followed by fireworks launched from over Wills Creek will highlight the celebration…..

The executive director of the DDC who lives in West Virginia as not foolish enough to pay local taxes on her local salary hopes all the little people come to her do.
