Armed Robbery in Grantsville

April 5th, 2013 by WCBC Radio

On Thursday, April 4, 2013 at approximately 6:00PM troopers from the McHenry Barrack responded to Grantsville Ag Service (gas and feed store), 28 Springs Road, Grantsville, Garrett County, Maryland for a reported armed robbery. Upon arrival troopers interviewed the victim who stated he had been located in a small enclosure at the gas pumps to maintain and oversee the pumps.  A vehicle traveling south on Route 669 pulled into the pump area of the business and the driver was wearing a mask covering his face.  The vehicle pulled up to the enclosure and the masked driver produced a knife and demanded money from the victim, never exiting the vehicle.  The victim handed over all cash and the suspect directed the victim to kneel in the enclosure.  After a short period of time the victim stood up but did not observe the direction of travel of the suspect.  The victim described the suspect as a black male driving a small black car. No injuries sustained. A general lookout was given to surrounding jurisdictions.

Personnel from Criminal Enforcement Division responded to the scene and will assume responsibility of the investigation.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Maryland State Police McHenry Barrack at 301-387-1101
