Blank Said Not to be Candidate for Permanent Superintendent

May 4th, 2020 by WCBC Radio

WCBC has learned from informed sources that Acting Allegany County Schools Superintendent Jeff Blank is not a candidate for the position full time.

Blank has been serving since July 1, 2019, replacing Dr. David Cox, who left to take a similar position in Sullivan County, Tennessee.

Blank has said he would serve an additional year in the interim position should the current board decide it needs more time to fill the position due to the pandemic.

How is that even possible?! Guy has done a fantastic job in the interim and he knows the system. You can be guaranteed they have one of “THEIR” people in mind. Politics as usual on Washington St.

I think it’s Jeff’s choice and I don’t blame him. He’s done his time for the BOE.
