One of the summer's hottest topics for parents and students is when and where children will be learning this fall. The Allegany County Board of Education expects to present an overview of its preliminary plans during it’s August 11th meeting. Administrators said it's not easy to try and plan for an upcoming school year under the cloud of so much uncertainty brought on by the coronavirus pandemic. Educators said they'll continue to take their cues from the state school superintendent and the governor, both of whom they're anxious to hear from in the coming weeks. Allegany County Board of Education president Tammy Fraley said that the superintendent has been working with upper level staff in attempting to put together a workable plan- but there are a wide range of unknowns at this point- including whether or not students and teachers will need to wear masks in the classrooms…

Teachers are not responsible for the recovery of the economy, baby-sitting, or getting us back to normal. Trump and Devos should stop trying to guilt teachers into risking their lives for the government’s failure to act.
