BoE Votes To Delay Approving FY 2020 Budget

June 12th, 2019 by WCBC Radio

Allegany County Board of Education member Tammy Fraley blastied the majority board Tuesday night as she opposed a motion to delay approving the FY 2020 budget until next week. The board met in a marathon session at Mount Savage School- and when it came to a vote on the budget- board president Robert Farrell suggested putting off a final vote until the board had additional time to review all of the numbers. Board member Deb Frank agreed with Fraley- saying her concern is that the delay is simply a way for the majority to make last minute additions or cuts without time for a proper vetting process…..

Farrell scoffed at the notion that he and board members David Bohn and Wayne Foote would use stall tactics In order to make advance any specific agenda…

The board ultimately voted 3-2 to table the budget til next week with Farrell, Foote and Bohn voting in favor- while Fraley and Frank opposed
