CEDC Serving as Information Resource During Pandemic

With the Coronavirus slowing every aspect of the economy- the Cumberland Economic Development Corporation finds itself in a largely informational mode at this point, acting as a go too, one stop shop for businesses needing direction  during the crisis. The CEDC, which is still in the process of merging with the Allegany County Economic Development Department, has been spending much of its time the past month serving as an information resource for area businesses. During Wednesday’s regular meeting, CEDC executive director Paul Kelly said there has been a great deal of confusion and a lack of clarity for businesses when it comes to defining which businesses are  considered ”essential”  and which are allowed to continue full time operations.  Meanwhile, board member Barry Ronan, President of UPMC Western Maryland, said that the hospital is beginning to focus on reopening many of the services that have been shutdown as a result of the virus…

    Why am I not surprised the CEDC was involved in the American Woodmark boondoggle. Only Paul and Matt would value kitchen cabinets over the health of citizens.
