In response to the Coronavirus outbreak and following directives from the governor’s office, the Cumberland Mayor and City Council conducted its regular business meeting Tuesday evening at City Hall- but the session was closed to the public. The council meeting was streamed live on the city’s Facebook page. Mayor Ray Morriss began the session with an update on COVID-19. The meetings should be streamed on the city’s webpage, not on Facebook. Citizens should not be forced to join a private data harvesting service to keep up with city government activities.

Now that we have a case, will they take this virus seriously? The Center City Parking Garage should be set up as a field hospital. This was done in my hometown in Ohio. What are these officials waiting for? They need to be proactive.
