City Council Questioned About City’s Priorities In Repairing, Repaving and Updating

For the second consecutive meeting, the Cumberland Mayor and City Council members were questioned about the city’s priorities in repairing, paving and upgrading streets. A Massaschusetts Avenue resident says he has studied the list of streets targeted for improvements- and feels there are some glaring omissions- and  some overall poor choices. The city contracted with a consultant more than a decade ago to perform a comprehensive evaluation of city streets which led to a prioritized schedule for repairs- when funding is available. City Administrator Jeff Rhodes acknowledged that it might be time to revisit and update the list- which he says has had its share of critics from day one…
