City Donates Bus Shelters to Scenic Railroad for Stops

November 4th, 2016 by WCBC Radio

The Cumberland Mayor and City Council this week declared four bus shelters with kiosks to be surplus property and authorized their donation to the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad. The railroad plans to use them along the railways to create scenic picnic areas for passengers. Mayor Brian Grim acknowledged that he did have some concern with the transaction- not wanting to see them become make-shift shelters for vagrants.
