City Police Arrest Two after Fight Downtown

On Thursday, April 4th, 2019 Cumberland Police Officers were on patrol in the area of George Street and Baltimore Street when they observed two males in a physical altercation.  Both males were arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and assault.  Larry Lamont Brown and Martin Lewis Stanback were taken before the District Court Commissioner.  Brown was held without bond and Stanback was released on his own personal recognizance pending trial.

Larry Lamont Brown, age; 41, Westernport, Maryland.

Martin Lewis Stanback, age; 28, Cumberland, Maryland.

    Imagine it’s three years into the future. Think of how enjoyable it will be to watch these local yahoos duking it out under the canopy of trees and bleeding on the tile walkways of the new and improved touristy mall. if we can only get the combatants to dress appropriately.

      > Yes, a quite likely vision. It seems the gentlemen did not get their copy of the city council’s proclamation in support of the Choose Civility program. Perhaps with the opening of Baltimore St., such folks will progress to drive-bys.
