Coronovirus Numbers Continue Downward Trajectory in MD, WV

Coronavirus-related hospitalizations in Maryland were down for a third straight day on Thursday, decreasing by more than 80 cases over a one-day period, according to state health department data. The statewide positivity rate was relatively unchanged, decreasing 0.1% to 8.43%. 44 additional deaths were reported in Thursday's update.

West Virginia reported its lowest daily positivity test rate for COVID-19 on Thursday since late November, according to the state Department of Health and Human Resources, which calculated the rate at just under 5%. Hospitalizations were also down in Thursday’s report, after reaching a pandemic high on Jan. 5th. The DHHR reported 31 additional deaths Thursday.
