County Receives Overview on Economic Development Plan

The idea to have an economic development strategic plan formulated was approved in 2017 and the actual study began last summer. On Thursday Allegany County finally received an overview of the findings and recommendations from Thomas P. Miller & Associates, an Indianapolis-based consulting firm. The 200 page report, now available on the county’s website, outlined strengths and weaknesses of the region;  presented  a series of goals  and opportunities as well as specific projects.     Wow. And to think taxpayers paid for that claptrap. Nothing in it that anyone with a 5th grade education could have told you and all in ONE page!! And had to laugh at the theory that better housing will attarct a better educated work force. To WORK WHERE?? The chicken/egg that no one seems to address- you need an educated workforce, but you also need the businesses that demand them!Can’t get one without the other but who or how do you get either one here first? Or at the same time? Quit the corrupt internet deal with Atlanticbb and fix the damn infrastructure will move the ball a long way!!
