 COVID-19 has changed the landscape of holiday celebrations in 2020 and New Year’s Eve is no exception. With COVID curfews in Maryland mandating the closure of restaurants and bars at 10 p.m., and the Maryland Health Department’s advisory limiting public or private indoor gatherings to no more than 10 individuals at one location, Marylanders will find other ways of ringing in the New Year.

No matter where or how you plan to celebrate the beginning of 2021, AAA Mid-Atlantic is reminding drivers and passengers alike to do so responsibly. “With people celebrating the New Year and then getting behind the wheel after a night of drinking, New Year’s Day consistently ranks among the deadliest and most dangerous days for alcohol-related traffic fatalities on our roadways,” said Ragina C. Ali, Manager of Public and Government Affairs for AAA Mid-Atlantic.
