Cumberland Police Make Six More Arrests Saturday

On August 3, 2019 Cumberland City Police served an arrest warrant on Tyler Edmon Pinkney, age 20 of Cumberland, Maryland. The warrant was issued after Pinkney failed to appear in District Court on prior assault charges. Pinkney was transported to the Cumberland City Police Department where he was processed and served. Pinkney was later transported to the District Court Commissioners office for his initial appearance. Pinkney was held in the Allegany County Detention Center without bond.

Arrested: Tyler Edmon Pinkney Age: 20 of Cumberland

Charge: Failure to Appear

 

Criminal Summons Served

On August 3, 2019 Cumberland City Police served a criminal summons on Savannah Dawn Shingleton, age 21 of Cumberland, Maryland. The summons was issued after a report was filed with the Cumberland City Police Department on July 31, 2019. During the incident a male victim told officers that he was assaulted by Shingleton after the two a disagreement about their living arraignments. As a result of this incident the victim was directed to District Court to apply for charges. Shingleton was served with the summons and released pending a trial date in District Court.

Charge: 2nd Degree Assault

 

CDS Arrest

On August 3, 2019 an officer from the Cumberland City Police Department was on patrol in the area of Maryland Avenue near Putman Street when he observed a traffic violation involving a passenger car. The officer stopped the vehicle and contacted the driver and two passengers. During a check of the driver and the occupants, the officer found the driver to be suspended in the state of Maryland. As the officer had the occupants step from the vehicle he questioned each occupant about possessing any illegal contraband or weapons. All subjects denied possessing either and consented to a search of their persons. One occupant identified as, Ethan Blaine McRobie confessed to the officer prior to the search that he was in possession of a baggie of marijuana. The marijuana was located and found to be a criminal amount. McRobie was placed under arrest and the scene and transported to the Cumberland City Police Department for processing. McRobie was processed, served and taken before the District Court Commissioner. McRobie was released on his own personal recognizance.

Arrested: Ethan Blaine McRobie Age: 20 of Cumberland, Maryland

Charge: Possession of marijuana and Possession of drug paraphernalia

 

Arrest Warrant Served

On August 3, 2019 Cumberland City Police served an arrest warrant on Donald Wayne Kiser, age 69 of Cumberland. Kiser was wanted after he failed to appear in District Court on prior trespassing charges. Kiser was transported to the Cumberland City Police Department for processing. Kiser was processed, served and taken before the District Court Commissioner. Kiser was released on his own personal recognizance.

Charge: Failure to Appear

Assault/Intoxicated Endangerment Arrest

On August 3, 2019 officers from the Cumberland City Police Department responded to 209 East Union Street for a subject wielding a large knife and threatening patrons. Upon the officers arrival they located James Kenneth Flohr Jr. in front of Suds with a large silver knife lying on top of a blue bag. Officers also contacted the complainant who was located on Queen City Pavement. The complainant informed officers that Flohr was standing in front of the Union Rescue Mission causing a disturbance yelling obscenities. Flohr was confronted about his language and asked to leave the Mission. Flohr refused and started cursing at the female who wanted him to leave. Flohr reached toward his side and brandished a large silver knife from his hip and threatened the female. As a result of this incident, Flohr was placed under arrest at the scene and transported to the Cumberland City Police Department for processing. Flohr was processed, served and taken before the District Court Commissioner. Flohr was held in the Allegany County Detention Center without bond.

Arrested: James Kenneth Flohr Jr. Age: 43 of Cumberland, Maryland

Charges: Intoxicated Endangerment, 2nd Degree Assault and Disorderly Conduct.

Arrest Warrant/CDS Arrest

On August 3, 2019 Cumberland City Police served an arrest warrant on Matthew Jason Swick, age 26 of Cumberland, Maryland. The warrant was issued after Swick failed to appear in District Court for driving on a suspended license. When officers first contacted Swick he lied about his name to avoid being arrested. Swick was identified after an officer responded and positively identified him. During a search incident to arrest, officers located several baggies of crack cocaine, numerous prescription pills and a large amount of US currency. Swick was processed, served and taken before the District Court Commissioner. Swick was held in the Allegany County Detention Center on without bond.

Arrested: Matthew Jason Swick Age: 26 of Cumberland, Maryland

Charge: Failure to Appear

On View Charges: 3 counts of possession with the intent to distribute, 4 counts of possessing CDS not marijuana, obstructing and hindering and providing a false name to avoid prosecution.

    What upsets me is the young age of the people. The older ones should no better. Always ask What would GOD say? Then how would my Grammy react? There are agencies that can help, but you have to ask first.

    I agree. Having felony arrests on your record at such a young age can only lead to a sad life situation, without help.
