Entry to the Center City Parking Garage will be made by credit card or permit card only; while the Frederick Street Garage remains a permit only facility. How in the world are we going to get people to come downtown if we charge them for coming there? This is most backward move the city could have made. The lots they want to charge for sit empty most weekdays and weekends. I guess someone forgot the principle of supply and demand.

As always. Wrong thing in to making Cumberland a place to come. As always, we just bend over and take it! City, State, Federal! Just keeping their hands in our pockets!

This is a pretty good indication that tourism may be the future for Cumberland but they (the City Fathers) plan to make those tourists pay for the privilege.
Imagine that you’ve driven from 1 to 4 hours to get here and you are presented with lots that charge by the hour. Most likely you will pay as you don’t want to just turn around and return home.
They know that and they are counting on that.

Since the train ain’t running we should use that trolley/bus to give Safari type tours of the local ghetto downtown. The ‘tourists’ can throw booze, needles, etc. to the drunks, crackheads, ho’s etc.
