Drug Bust in Cumberland

On Monday, members of the Allegany County Narcotics Task Force, with the assistance of the Cumberland Police Department, Allegany County Sheriff’s Office, Garrett County Narcotics Task Force, and Maryland State Police Cumberland Barrack executed a search and seizure warrant in the 900 block of Fayette Street, Cumberland, MD. 

Entry into the residence was made by Cumberland City Police Department’s C.E.R.T. Team. The search and seizure warrant was the result of a month-long investigation into the distribution and sales of cocaine in the Allegany County area. Located during the search warrant were numerous firearms, a large amount of cocaine with a street value of $14,000.00 packaged for resale, CDS packaging materials and a large amount of U.S. Currency.

As a result, Douglas Lee Resh, 54, of Cumberland, MD was arrested and charged with the following: – CDS: POSSESS-NOT MARIJUANA – CDS: POSS W/I DIST: NARC – FIREARM/DRUG TRAF CRIME (2 Counts) Following his initial appearance, Resh was held without bond. The investigation is on-going and more charges are pending. The Allegany County Narcotics Task Force is a cooperative effort between the Maryland State Police, Allegany County Sheriff’s Office, the Cumberland Police Department and the Allegany County States Attorney’s Office.
