First Allegany County Child tests positive for coronavirus

April 14th, 2020 by WCBC Radio

The Allegany County Health Department reports that 20 Allegany County residents have now tested positive for COVID-19.  The two most recent cases involve a school-aged male child who is recovering at home and a male in his 20s who has not required hospitalization.

Additionally, a fourth Mineral County resident who works in Allegany County has tested positive for COVID-19.

The health department continues to urge residents to stay at home except to go out for essential supplies, prescriptions, and medical appointments.  If you must go out, maintain social distancing and cover your nose and mouth with a face covering.  For information on how to make a DIY face covering, go to https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/downloads/DIY-cloth-face-covering-instructions.pdf.

So the child is somewhere between 5 and 18. That sorta gives the identity away. Every other case gives the age , this one gives a range. Why ?

I’m not wearing a mask, it doesn’t protect you anyway!

You are asked to wear a mask to protect other people. You could be infected but asymptomatic. We all need to do our part.

    Dan,

Why would you say that? I am genuinely curious.

      > No wonder Dan won’t wear a mask. I saw him the other day at Walmart and he was wearing a Lone Ranger mask. I think he was getting tired of the pointing and funny looks.

Just heard that the parent to the child that tested positive was a Hunter Douglas employee. Does the news room have any info on this?
