Footer Dye Works Economic Impact Study

A recently completed economic impact study on the Footer Dye Works building has members of the Canal Place Preservation and Development Authority optimistic about the potential the project has to revitalize the local economy. Developer Michael Joy and partners who have the exclusive rights to arrange a development package for the Footer Dye Works building have applied for the state and federal tax credits that accompany the historic structure. As high as 20 percent each, the tax credits are considered a critical part of the financial package to keep the Footer project moving forward. Rick Thayer, chair of the authority, says that while awaiting word on tax credits, Joy has continued to showcase the Footer building to prospective tenants…
