Former Centre Street Methodist Church Purchased

The Maryland Real Property Data Base is indicating the former Centre Street United Methodist Church has been sold.
Tim Mullaney purchased the building and property for $225,000.  The transaction is dated June 30, 2020.
The primary structure was built in 1871.
Centre Street United Methodist Church held its last service on June 3, 2018, closing due to a decline in the congregation and financial contributions.

    This is about average for Cumberland; property selling for 1/8 of its assessed value.

      Sadly regardless of what I may think something is worth, it is actually worth what someone else is willing to pay for it.

      My guess is that he doesn’t really know what he will do with the building. He will likely wait until the pandemic passes. Whenever that is.
