Fraley Comments on Transparency with Selecting Superintendent

May 14th, 2020 by WCBC Radio

Allegany County Board of Education President Tammy Fraley told WCBC’s ‘Dave Norman Show” Wednesday that there are no concerns about a lack of transparency with the process the board is engaging in to choose the next superintendent. After beginning the search process in March and preparing to conduct interviews this month- the board abruptly announced this week that the search has been suspended as a result of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. While a prepared statement noted the board is considering it’s options- what those options are and when any additional details about the search process might be forthcoming- was not included in the release.  She said the board is not trying to be clandestine with the process- but there simply too many unknowns at this time to provide any additional information…

Hummmm wonder who from the Western Maryland Delegation leaked the letter to Dave?

BTW anyone else notice an increase in Mike McKay advertisements on the station? Quid pro quo: Give us the letter get favorable rates for advertising.

      > Who cares how he got it. Transparency is the key word and you have an elected official not being forthcoming and honest about everything. That is the real issue. It was a power move prior to elections and it blew up on them.

This situation is an embarrassment to our community. These people are supposed to be responsible for the education of our children. Instead they seem to spend all of their time fighting over issues that should be obvious, given a bit of common sense. All of this time, money and effort needs to go to the students and the teachers. Leave Jeff Blank alone. He is doing a fine job.

More smoke and mirrors from Tammy, from whom no good things flow.

To quote Ms Fraley “ I’m not going to make the decision of who he is” when did she disband the BOE? A Freudian slip? He? What a woman is not considered? Doesn’t sound very progressive and from the woman that said when she was elected “there will be no more division in the board’s decisions” if everyone would just let her do what she wants and stop questioning her.

Tammy keeps making herself look awful during these interviews. She didn’t want Blank and it was well known that she wants Kalbaugh. The community, teachers union, and apparently the delegation wants Blank, so what’s her deal? She’s elected by the people…
