Comptroller Peter Franchot used the most recent meeting of the Maryland Board of Public Works as a political platform, calling out the Trump administration for what he said has been a complete botching of the national response to the coronavirus pandemic from day one. Franchot, a Democrat, is an announced candidate for governor in 2022. He said not only has President Trump failed to get the virus under control, he has never accepted the responsibility that comes with the job.
