Gov. Martin O'Malley's bill legalizing same-sex marriage passed 7 to 4 in the Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee and is expected to be debated on the Senate floor as early as Wednesday. Supporters resisted any amendments to the bill, which could have killed the measure. Any change would send the legislation back to the House of Delegates where it passed by a narrow margin after a dramatic day of jockeying Friday.
