Group Continues To Criticize Commissioners About Proposed Wind Farm Project

Although it was a Board of Zoning Appeals decision- the Allegany County Commissioners continue to be a target of criticism from a citizens group opposed to the proposed Dan’s Mountain Wind Farm project. The commissioners have stated on record that they support the decision of the Appeals Board to approve the placement of 17 wind turbines on Dan’s Mountain. The project was initially denied by the Allegany County Board of Zoning Appeals in 2015, however, through an appeals process, a state court sent the case back to Allegany County in 2019. In October, a new group of zoning board members approved the project in a 2-1 vote. The project has been opposed by the Allegany Neighbors and Citizens for Home Owners Rights Limited and members of that group have been regularly attending commissioners meeting critical of the official’s public support for the effort….

    All three of the commissioners are responsible for this and if Allegany County is lucky this will be their last term. They sold the citizens out for a quick buck to their re-election campaigns.

    Yes, how dare they be in favor of a million dollars a year in new tax revenue to benefit the county

    Many of the politicians in the state of Maryland are committed to closing down Warrior Run Which will be another tax hit. To Allegany County they were celebrating. The closing of the paper mill and any other heavy industry in Maryland Maybe we should just declare ourselves. Part of Baltimore and we would have access. To an unlimited amount of money
