On Wednesday, October 28th, 2020 the Cumberland Police Department responded to that area Ford Avenue for the report of a motor vehicle theft. When the officer arrived, contact was made with the victim who reported that his 2020 Ford F150 had just been stolen. An attempt to locate the vehicle was given out to allied agencies and a short time later, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and Hagerstown detachment of the Maryland State Police spotted the stolen truck traveling on E/B I-68 in the area of Indian Springs. A vehicle pursuit ensued and Antonio James Rodney was taken into custody after crashing the stolen truck. A warrant for Rodney has been issued by The District Court of Allegany County for the unlawful taking of a motor vehicle. At the time of this release, Rodney remains in custody in Washington County.
