Steve Shuh, who heads up Maryland Opioid Operational Command, was in Allegany County Thursday evening as part of a panel on the crisis organized by Sixth District Congressman David Trone.
Shuh told the 120 people in attendance that overall numbers are improving, but there is a long way to go…
Shuh said a program to divert addicts to treatment, rather than prison, is the next step in addressing the problem.
