Health Dept. Suspends In-Person Services; Sets Up Call Center Instead

The Allegany County Health Department has temporarily suspended all in-person services, but  has activated a call center to respond to questions about the novel coronavirus, or COVID-19. Jenelle Mayer, health officer for Allegany County, tells WCBC News that as of late Wednesday afternoon there were no confirmed cases of the Coronavirus in Allegany County.  With the public at large looking for answers at this time, Mayer says that now,  addition to the health department’s  website, social media and area news outlets, the call center is another way  to provide accurate and timely information to the public. As far as testing goes, Mayer says if you develop symptoms its important to first check with your health care provider to determine whether or not you need to be tested…

    We can see what is really important to the county in times like these; An Allegany County Transit bus carrying nobody but the driver just came to pick up a developmentally disabled man to chauffer him to his sinecure.
