Hogan chides bars/restaurants not in COVID compliance

July 21st, 2020 by WCBC Radio

Maryland Governor Larry Hogan last week requested localities to increase enforcement of public health directives- and he believes the early returns are encouraging. Health officials have linked more and more cases to non-compliance with rules on face coverings and physical distancing. A week after asking local governments to crack down on bars and restaurants who are not acting in compliance with state and CDC guidelines- the numbers are trending in the right direction. The governor's request came as states like California have moved to close bars and other establishments back up to contend with the resurgence of the virus…

      > No need to worry, they’ve been chided.
If it continues the next step is to sternly chide them.
If all other steps fail the Governor will be forced to harshly chide them.

It’s not only the bars and restaurants, the grocery stores are alarming! Most cashiers wear their masks below their nose, as well as most patrons (if they wear them at all). Sheetz is just as bad. When I asked at Sheetz why won’t they say anything to the ones that come in without masks, they tell me they aren’t allowed to, that only the cops can say anything. That’s bull! Managers should be responsible for their own stores.

I should think store managers would be able to say something to their workers.but I guess that wouldn’t be cool. Things are really becoming lax around here I look for a big upswing in cases add that to when school goes back and we could really have a much worse problem than before.

As long as there is no punishment mandated for not wearing a mask many, too many, will just ignore the ‘suggestion’.
If there were some form of fine there are not enough police to enforce such a fine.
Leaving it up to the individual is the same as not having any requirement at all.
